Question by Wolf :
Wolf: Urmi in Sundhouse (Bas-Rhin)
Felix Urmi marries Adelheid Grob on 11.02.1616 in Knonau (Canton of Zurich, Switzerland); the couple have 8 children baptized in Knonau:
The couple joined the Anabaptists and were expelled from the country in 1635 and allegedly left for Alsace - with the exception of their eldest son Gorius, who may already have been married at this time. He and his wife join him in 1646; the wife is said to have died before 1657. So much for the Swiss sources.
Geneanet has a lot of information about Urmi in Sundhouse (Sundhausen), including contradictory information about Gorius (Gregorius) Urmi. They have the date of death 25.09.1675 in common, all have no baptism date, place of marriage always Sundhouse, the daughter Verena (*1662) is always mentioned.
https://gw.geneanet.org/vio005?n=urmi&oc=&p=georgius: Georgius is then married in his first marriage to a Margaretha, with whom he has two children (1655 and 1657); the mother dies in 1657. In his second marriage in 1657 he marries a Hadla Schauer, with whom he has 6 children baptized (1658-1671).
https://gw.geneanet.org/matter3?n=urmi&oc=&p=georgius: Georgius then marries Hadla Schauer in 1657; only the daughter Verena is listed.
https://gw.geneanet.org/seba73?n=urmi&oc=&p=gregory: Gregory then marries Elda Scherer in 1651. Baregg (Knonau) is given as the place of birth.
Unfortunately, the church records from Bas-Rhin don't seem to be available online - or am I just not finding them? Is anyone involved with this family or at least researching Sundhouse and can help?

Question Wolf:
Thank you very much, Richard! I had found the archive page - but when I tried to call up a parish ... simply nothing at all :? ... I must have waited a minute or more, several times. Was the server simply in a bad state?
With your link it worked - and now the search for a parish also works - it took maybe 5 seconds.
In addition to your hints, I have also found the following on https://archives.bas-rhin.fr/detail-doc ... 34-1794590 I also found the following death entry: Anno 1675 den 25. 7ber ist Gregorius Urmi, Burger auch zu Schlettstatt gestorben, sambt zweyen Kinderen.
Father and 2 of his children died on the same day: was there an epidemic (plague?) that year or was it an accident ... or?
In any case, this point has now been cleared up and I can start evaluating / assessing / checking the information on the subsequent generations.

D-3) Gregorius Urmi ooI Margretha Bär, ooII 1657 Hedle SchererGregorius (Gorius) Urmi, ≈ Knonau ZH 26.12.1622, son of Felix, emigrates to Alsace as an Anabaptist around 1647. According to the death entry (Sundhouse 25.09.1675 [§]), he is a citizen of both Sundhausen and Schlettstadt.

Margretha Bär, according to the marriage entry “a Widerteüffers daughter from Ütliberg”, ■ Sundhouse 04.02.1657 dies “in puerperio”.
Wolf:
Kent: Does "in puerperio" mean in childbirth?
Yes - her death and his baptism were on the same day: quite possible that he was baptised immediately as problems were expected.
Kent: I take it Margretha Bär was an Anabaptist.
As I quoted on the forum: in her marriage entry is says "eines Widerteüffers Tochter ab dem Ütliberg" … so her father was an Anabaptist, and she likely was brought up this way. However, in the baptismal entry 1650 of her two children she's described as Calvinist.

Answer Hello Wolf,
the old “drittalb” means in the area of Schlestatt (Sélestat) 3 years less half a year, so 2 and a half years.
Greetings from Alsace

The "filius" (= son) indicates that there is another Oswald Weiss around - but not his father. He was born 09.09.1655.
