What will the persecution look like?
 
"The modern anti-Christs will seek to change the "times and laws" as a means to enforce their own cultural standards. The new policies and laws will by their very nature, penalize righteousness as not just old fashioned nonsense, but bigotry and crimes of hate (Dan 7:25). The vision suggests that penalties will result in the taking away of religious freedoms and the right to openly worship.
 
"The political secularists...will set themselves up as the highest authority, pitting their moral values against the doctrines of Christ and the practices of His kingdom as the standard to be followed. These disingenuous leaders will seek to enforce their own "righteousness" in an attempt to halt the practice of what they will declare to be "backward and racist religion." They will not only assert that Christian doctrines are uninformed, but practices that constitute blatant prejudice and in some cases are deemed illegal. Traditional religion will be subverted in favor of a new "social justice" a modern "enlighten" belief system, which is "set up" as progressively better and they will seek to enforced by law. As mentioned, modern "transgressors" those who have broken the everlasting covenants (Isa:24:5) will also play a pivotal part in the litigation of fellow members and their condemnation." How will the wicked be destroyed?

Nephi speaks:
13 And the blood of that great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall turn upon their own heads; for they shall war among themselves, and the sword of their own hands shall fall upon their own heads, and they shall be drunken with their own blood.

14 And every nation which shall war against thee, O house of Israel, shall be turned one against another, and they shall fall into the pit which they digged to ensnare the people of the Lord. And all that fight against Zion shall be destroyed, and that great whore, who hath perverted the right ways of the Lord, yea, that great and abominable church, shall tumble to the dust and great shall be the fall of it. 1 Nephi 22:13-14

John speaks:
 Revelation 13:
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
 
John speaks:
Revelation 17:18  16 And the ten horns (powers) which thou sawest upon the beast, ( all worldly organizations) these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

The Lord speaks:
D&C 87:6-7
6 And thus, with the word and by bloodshed the inhabitants of the earth shall mourn; and with famine, and plague, and earthquake, and the thunder of heaven, and the fierce and vivid lightning also, shall the inhabitants of the earth be made to feel the wrath, and indignation, and chastening hand of an Almighty God, until the consumption decreed hath made a full fend of all nations;

7 That the cry of the saints, and of the blood of the saints, shall cease to come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, from the earth, to be avenged of their enemies. 
 
The Lord speaks September 1830:
Doctrine Covenants 29:
15 And there shall be weeping and wailing among the hosts of men;

16 And there shall be a great hailstorm sent forth to destroy the crops of the earth.

17 And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine dindignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not.

18 Wherefore, I the Lord God will send forth flies upon the face of the earth, which shall take hold of the inhabitants thereof, and shall eat their flesh, and shall cause maggots to come in upon them;

19 And their tongues shall be stayed that they shall not utter against me; and their flesh shall fall from off their bones, and their eyes from their sockets;

20 And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up.

21 And the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall be cast down by devouring fire, according as it is spoken by the mouth of Ezekiel the prophet, who spoke of these things, which have not come to pass but surely must, as I live, for abominations shall not reign.

Who will fight in Armageddon?
 
The King of the North are under the direction of Gog and the Kingdom of the south are represented by Israel. Daniel 11:16, 41, 45
 
According to Daniel 11:3-6 the following countries will fight against Israel:
Russia, Persia or Iran and may include Turkey, Syria, Iraq (Babylon), Armenia, Afghanistan and Gomer or modern Europe and Togarmah or northeastern Europe. Interesting to note that Moab and Ammon and Saudi Arabia are missing. 
The leader will be Gog, the prince of Meshech or Tubal from the land of Magog (Ezek. 38:1-2) The Book of Daniel by G Erik Brandt, page 360
 
Why will Gog, want to destroy Israel?
 
"The primary goal of the king and his false prophet ally is Israel's total annihilation. But both Daniel's and Ezekiel's prophecies reveal another motivating objective ot he campaign is to gain treasure to take possession of the land. Dan 11:43 Gog will stir up the nations "to take spoil, and to take a prey, to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited." Ezek 38:12,13, The Book of Daniel by G Erik Brandt, page 363

2nd Coming Myths
 
The idea that foreign nations will attack the USA is unfounded
                  1.  If a foreign nation did take over the US then that power would need
                        to be cleansed 
                   2. No scripture/prophet quote says this will happen
                    3. In the Book of Mormon, the wicked cleanse the wicked, Nephi
                            says the whore will be put into the pit she dug, the whore
                            commits suicide
                    4. There are many prophet quotes on civil war but not international
                            war
 
The idea of an Anti-Christ will lead the attack on Christians is unfounded
                    1. Anti-Christs not found in the book of Revelation, false prophets - yes
                    2. Scriptural references to anti-christs are found in John and
                        are references to his time
                    3.  Rev 13:5 "And there was given unto him a mouth speaking                                             great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to                                 continue forty and two months."  The Greek translation is "it
                         was given him" The beast does not speak for itself but parrots
                         the words of Satan. "The Revelation of John the Apostle" p 490
                    4. An anti-christ is anyone who doesn't believe in Christ or who                                         persecutes Christians, that includes many Muslem nations that will                             be key players in the battle of Armageddon.
                    5. Daniel mentions the little horn but does not use  the word Anti-Christ 
 
What does time and time and 1/2 mean?

There are 7 references to time in Revelation and Daniel to time and time and 1/2

Revelation 12:6 and Rev 12:14, Joseph Smith said these references had to do with
    the woman, meaning the church, going into the wilderness for protection
    from 1830 on
 
Current day references to the beast or image of evil: 
Revelation 13:5 the time the beast would have power
Daniel 7:25 the time the beast will wear out the saints
From the time that the daily sacrifice is taken to abomination
Daniel 12:7 a man has power to scatter the holy people

        The silence is before and after judgment, probably 2,000 until March 5, 2021

    The prayers of the saints result in 4 plagues
        The 4 plagues are thunder, lightening, earthquake and commotion

Chapter 9 - 3 Woes
    1st Woe - 5th trumpet
    powers of hell unleashed from the pit of Hell on"inhabitants of the earth" or evil
    before it was God in charge, now it is Satan
    Locust and scorpions unleashed - they torment men
    Locust and scorpions - thunder, insects, lightning, tsunami, wars, earthquake
        These torment but don't kill "the inhabitants of the earth". They are a warning            to people but don't result in death.

    6th trumpet/ or 2nd Woe
        Kills 1/3 of people through war
        The wicked worship gold and evil ways

        John's role in the ages

Chapter 11
    The temple is measured, inside the temple is a place of safety, but the reason
        for measuring is because the outer court or outside the temple is not safe
    The outer court where non believers can congregate is not measured

        3.5 / time and time and a half - Joseph Smith said that  the period when the                     woman (church) would go into the wilderness for protection was represented              by 3.5 months meaning a long period of time

Chapter 13 - Satan works through 2 beasts and the false lamb (evil godhead)
         
       1st Beast:
       1. Is like a leopard, bear, lion
       2. Drug cartels, organized crime, secular state, radical religions, secret                                 combinations
        3. blasphemes, is wounded (by the atonement) is invincible, doesn't speak for                 self, Satan does
        4. Is a spiritual storehouse of evil
        5. beastly, abominable, murder, corrupt, carnivorous, brutal, superiority, 
            ambitious, vanity, wants to acquire wealth and power
        6. Like Satan the beast has 7 heads and 10 crowns on each horn

        Another beast (v11-17) from the land - the propaganda minister (media)
        1. Wants all to worship the first beast
        2. pseudo religious, doctrines, propaganda (media) like a lamb
        3. performs miracles, full of false doctrine, is a witness of the first beast
         4, Fights against the saints and wins for a time and time and a half or 3.5 years        
              
Chapter 14 - securing the saints and harvesting or missionary work
 
        1. The lamb and 144k are missionaries
        2. warning to the inhabitants of the earth v 6-11 
        3. the great and last judgment v 7
        4. The choice here is economic success and security or
            follow Christ and eternal happiness
        5. 11-21 judgment
        6. There are 2 harvests, one for the righteous and one for the wicked.

Chapter 15 - God is in charge

        1. justice of God is real

Chapter 16 - 7 bowls, which are different aspects of the  7 plagues in Dan 7

        1st Beast is the muscle or does the heavy lifting

Daniel 7

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a adream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 

(the sea represents the people of the earth)

3 And four great abeasts came up from the bsea, diverse one from another. (four periods of history)

4 The afirst was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

(The first beast is the Babylonian Empire)

5 And behold another abeast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

 (The third beast is the Medo-Persian Empire, while not as strong as the first beast, it still reigned, Cyrus the Great, the three ribs are Babylon, Lydia and Egypt, When Xedrxes's went against Greece he took two and a half million troops with him.)

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four aheads; and dominion was given to it.

(The leopard is the Macedonian-Greek Empire. Alexander the great took command in Macedonia at the age of 16 and never lost a battle. He attacked with 35k to 50k foot companions. They invented the Phalanx or an army who moved in close-ranks.Alexander captured all of Persia in just 12 years. The speed with which the army moved was unprecedented.)

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth abeast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great biron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had cten horns.

(The fourth beast is the Roman Empire. Rome reigned almost 1,000 years. From 753 BC Rome prided itself on democracy in the form of a representative Senate. Rome obiterated their rival Carthage in the third Punic was 149-146BC wherin they burned the city, enslaved the population and systematically sowed salt into the fields to prevent prevent the planting of crops. Between 67-70AD roman legoions slaughtered over a million Jews throughout Judea.  Titus embarrassed at the brutality of his troops, chastened them for overreaching. but the death and carnage was done. Rome practiced crucufixion and infant sacrifice. Rome was well organized and once conquered people lived well. )

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little ahorn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a bmouth speaking great things.

(The term little horn may also be those who oppose the Saints and doctrines of the Redeemer.)

9 I beheld till the athrones were bcast down, and the cAncient of days did sit, whose dgarment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his ewheels as burning fire.

(The scene now shifts of a council where Adam is introduced.)

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: athousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the bjudgment was set, and the cbooks were opened.

 (Adam sits in judgment and the books are opened. This book contains the acts of men with a focus on the little horn and the corrupt alliance of nations.)

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the abeast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning bflame.

(Adam's judgment is that the beast's earthly throne is to be cast down and the kingdom destroyed)

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

(The other nations will continue but with little influence.)

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the aSon of man came with the bclouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

(Adam transfers the keys of the kingdom to Christ at Adam-ondi-Ahman)

14 And there was given him adominion, and glory, and a bkingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an ceverlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

(Christ will rule this earth forever.)

15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

17 These great beasts, which are four, are four akings, which shall arise out of the earth.

18 But the asaints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21 I beheld, and the same horn made awar with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22 Until the aAncient of days came, and bjudgment was given to the csaints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten ahorns out of this kingdom are bten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

(After Rome comes 10 nations, and they are subdued by another nation)

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall awear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

(The last kingdom, or Mother of Abominations or evil government will wear out the saints. this evil kingdom will change the laws and culture in a war against the saints which will last for 3.5 years)

26 But the ajudgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

 (The last kingdom is destroyed)

27 And the akingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be bgiven to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an ceverlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

(Christ will rule and reign forever on this earth, both in the millennium and when this earth is a Celestial Kingdom)

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my acogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
