Donna L. Weinert, 75, of Falls City, died October 4, 2005 at Falls City. She was born February 20, 1930 at Rulo, NE to the late Charles A. and Gladys L. (Jones) Sickel.
On February 22, 1952 she married Paul M. Weinert at Falls City, NE.
Donna was raised in the Rulo and Falls City areas and graduated from Falls City High School in 1947. She attended Westmar College in LeMars, IA and taught school in Nebraska and Illinois. When married, the couple established their home in Naperville, IL and then lived in Derby, KS, Baldwin, KS, Verdon, NE and then moved to Falls City. She was active in church and community activities. She and her husband were made life members of P.T.A. in honor of their public service. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and UMW, having held many offices. She was also a 4-H leader, Campfire leader, Cub Scout leader, long time chairman of the Blood Mobile Canteen, member of Southeast Nebraska Association of Retired School Personnel and she was an early EMT with Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
Donna is survived by her husband, Paul of Falls City, daughters, Susan M. Hull of Elkhorn, NE, Carol Ann Thomas and her husband John of Springfield, MO, Mary Beth Smith and her husband Craig of Encinitas, CA, sons, Thomas E. and his wife Gayle of Falls City, Gregory A. and his wife Heidi of Lincoln, NE, brother, Donald Sickel and his wife Rose of Liberty Hill, TX and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on October 7, 2005 10:30 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Theta Dame officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel-Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday 7-8:00 PM at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home.
The family prefers memorials be made to "Family Choice".
