Translation by Robert Seal:
On the 13th of January [1681], early between 3 and 4 am, Peter Weidmann, citizen and lawyer here [and his] legitimate wife Elisabetha, their child was [born], who thereafter on the 16th of the same month was baptized and was named Anna Margreth.
Baptimsal sponsors: (1) Hanß Matth[ias] Zeißlof, citizen and member of the council, also welfare/alms supervisor, [and] Eva Margreth, his wife. (2) Martin _____?, citizen and member of the council, and Regina Catharina, his legitimate wife.
Comments: I am reading the father's occupation as: procurator, which is Latin and translates as: lawyer. Can you confirm that Peter Weidmann was a lawyer? (Done, he is a lawyer according to FS)
Another interesting occupation is that of the first baptismal sponsor Hanß Matth[ias] Zeißlof, which is: Almosenpfleger. Ernest Thode, German-English Genealogical Dictionary, translates "Almosenpfleger" as: almoner; welfare supervisor (of church congregation).
Anna Margaretha marriage 9 Nov 1697 film 102078348 page 185 |
On the 9th of November [1697], after holding a wedding sermon, were married Johann Andreas, the legitimate son of the late Johann Mattaie[s] Schollen, former lawyer, and Anna Margaretha, surviving daughter of Peter Weÿdmann deceased.
My comment: The abbreviation after Peter Weÿdmann's name is: "seel." = seelig = deceased; late; blessed; sainted.
Andreas Scholl death 3 Mar 1699 film 102078298 page 399 |
The last word of the first line looks like: "Khind" which is perhaps a local variant of the word "Kind" = child. I will mark the word "child" in the translation with a "?".
Translation:
On the 3rd of March [1699], Andreas Scholl [had] a child? born dead [i.e., stillborn], and here was buried in a Christian manner.
Comment: See unnamed Scholl child (MWTN-4SK) in FamilySearch Family Tree.
