Julius's parents were Christine was born 13 February 1833, Graben, Baden Germany to Johann Martin Kohler and Christina Scholl. His mother married Friedrich Zimmermann 20 March 1851. Her first 6 children were born in Graben. Her last two in America. Juilius married Sophie Ernestine Louise Bippes. The Bippes family were popular in the Falls City area. FS has Julius dying March 1885 however we have not seen proof of this.

Baptismal sponsors were: Wilhelm Becker, citizen and knife smith here, and his wife Maria El[i]sabethe, née Rödel; Simon Süß, citizen and farmer here, and his wife Philippine, née Brecht.
