Anna Scholl was born 8 October 1880 to Frederick and Fannie Scholl in Arago, Nebraska. Anna grew up on her parents' farm where they raised alfalfa, oats, wheat and barley. They had two orchards and a rental house on a large tract of land. During her early years she learned how to cook, sew, do farm chores and take care of livestock. Horses needed grooming, feeding and hitching up to wagons. Everyone needed to do their part. When Anna was 22 she married a "stock farmer" (see Maurice's death certificate) named Maurice Bingaman on 12 March 1902 in Arago. A stock farmer breeds and raises livestock. He is sometimes called a cattleman or someone who tends cattle. Maurice was 23, Anna 21. Maurice's parents and all 8 children were born in Pennsylvania and stayed there. Maurice was the only one of his family who moved away. What motivated him to move to Arago is unknown. In any case Anna and Maurice settled down in Arago and had soon had two daughters.
Prior to 1905 Frederick Scholl had a rental home on his property in Falls City. After the renters moved out he asked three of his girls cleaned the home and all three contracted tuberculosis. One by one they died from its effects. Anna died September 20, 1905, Clara in 1907 and Lizzy moved to Alamogordo NM for the health benefits of the climate but still died in 1914. Anna lived 24 years 11 months 12 days.
After Anna's death, Maurice and the girls move to Amarillo, Texas. Anna and Maurice's two girls are found in the in 1910 Texas census. Maurice married Frida Hursch on the 9th April 1908 and the two girls reportedly "hate their stepmother." Fred Jr, Anna’s brother, brings both girls back to Portland, and soon thereafter their father dies on 21 Nov 1918 in Amarillo, Texas. He was 39. Laura Fanny Bingaman 1902-1984, Laura married George Harold Roby 9 May 1928 in Multnomah, Oregon. From 1929 to 1933 they have three girls: Jean Myrtle 1929, Maybelle 1932 deceased, and Shirley Ann 1933. Laura lived into her 80’s and is genealogist and historian David Roby’s grandmother. Laura died in 1984.
Leona Emma Bingaman 1904-1930 Leona married Charles Thew Cutting 7 July 1929 in Marion, Oregon. Leona died while giving birth to her first child who they named Charles Frederick Cutting (1930-1988). Charles marries Marie Franziska Sellmaier 10 April 1964 when he is 34.

Emma Scholl Journal, 1928 “We started home in September, stopped at Emma's and enjoyed the prunes and peaches. We attended Laura's funeral in the Evangelical Church in Portland just before we left. She died August 27th, 1928, giving birth to her second baby, Lawrence Zinser. Her first baby died at birth. Emma Hornschuch raised Lawrence. Leona Bingaman also married soon afterward and she died giving birth to her first child. Her sister Laura Roby lived in Portland. We also visited Edward and Fred Voegelein, Aunt Minnie's sons, and her daughter Kate Daugherty in Lebanon and Brooks.”
