Frank was born on 14 October 1925 in Utah. He had three older sisters. Frank's father, Frank Jacob Workman was in construction in 1930 and his mother Lucie or Lucy, who was born in Idaho, attended beauty college in Long Beach. By1940 his father is a postal worker in LA and they live on East 23rd Street in Los Angeles.

His father died in 1975 and mother in 1991.

Frank attended Glendale College in 1948 and graduated from the Southern California Optometrist College in 1951.

He was married to Darlene who was also his office assistant for a time. She had heart problems and died between 1967 and 1969.

From an old stake MLS printout from 1991 it shows Frank's birthdate at 14 Oct 1925. Also, it shows his full name as FRANK LA MAR WORKMAN

"I am going on memory that is not always reliable. I think his first wife had valves replaced in her heart and refused to have it done a second time and died when the first set needed to be replaced. He had a daughter about my age (born about 1950)but I did not know her very well. I remember being in his office, when Dad picked up his glasses." MG He married Barbara Wadman in 1969 and divorced Barbara in 1976. For a time in the 1970's James Gardiner home taught the family. His wife remembers Barbara as a fancy dresser who liked make up.

He later married Toni. He and Toni lived on Whittier Drive in La Crescenta and they were still married when he retired and moved to San Luis Obispo, CA.

His optometry office changed locations over the years. Here is one listing:

In 2010 he was a poll worker during elections in San Luis Obispo, CA. He was also a member of Lion's Club, San Luis Obispo

FRANK WORKMAN, 88, of Arroyo Grande, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was 88 years old. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. He was buried the 27th of January, 2014 and is buried in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Section Q Row H Lot 7.

1951 Glendale City Directory: Apparently Darlene is his wife and dental assistant for both himself and Dr WW Warriner. His parents, Frank and Lucy live above the office.

1954 Frank's parents live at 613 B South Pacific Avenue and he lives with Darlene (heart problems) at 314 S Orange, and his office is at114 S. Orange. Darlene dies sometime between 1954 and 1969 when Frank remarries.
